StrictCite is an automated reference reconciliation tool that detects hallucinated references, broken DOIs, and metadata mismatches against public registry records. It does not replace peer review or authorial editorial oversight.
Automated Audit Scope
StrictCite evaluates structured bibliographic metadata (.bib, .ris, .tex, etc.) against Crossref, PubMed, arXiv, OpenAlex, and Semantic Scholar. Upstream registries may experience index delays.
Limitation of Liability
StrictCite shall not be held liable for academic grading outcomes, peer review decisions, publisher desk rejections, or disciplinary actions relating to the use or interpretation of automated audit verdicts.
Passes & Subscriptions
7-Day Submission Passes ($3.99) are single purchases. They do not renew, there is nothing to cancel, and access ends after seven days. Researcher Pro ($9/mo) renews automatically and can be cancelled at any time from the Stripe Customer Portal, linked from your billing page. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — you keep what you bought.
Registry Etiquette
StrictCite enforces concurrency throttles on public academic APIs. Users agree not to conduct automated denial-of-service, scraping proxy chains, or abusive batch scripts against non-profit scholarly databases.
Your 14-Day Right, and Waiving It
Consumers in the European Union have fourteen days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason, under Directive 2011/83/EU and, in Poland, the Ustawa o prawach konsumenta of 30 May 2014.
StrictCite is a digital service under Article 2 of the Directive: you give it a bibliography and it processes it. That places it under Article 16(a), and under Article 38(1) of the Polish Act — the right ends when the service has been fully performed, provided you asked for it to begin and acknowledged that asking ends the right. You are asked to confirm both at checkout, on the payment page itself. Nothing in these terms substitutes for that confirmation.
The 7-Day Pass. What you buy is one bibliography, audited. It is delivered in full the moment you run it, and at that moment the contract is performed and the right of withdrawal ends. The remaining seven days of unlimited audits are given at no charge, are not part of what you paid for, and you keep them either way.
Researcher Pro. A month of service is not fully performed until the month ends, so the right of withdrawal survives for fourteen days. Withdraw inside that window and you are refunded for the days you did not use; Article 14(3) lets us keep a proportionate amount for the days you did, and that is all we keep. Cancelling at any other time stops the next renewal and leaves the current period running to its end.
If you would rather keep the fourteen days untouched, do not purchase. The free tier audits a bibliography without payment, and the Pass exists so that trying the paid product need not be a subscription.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the law of Poland, and the courts of Poland have jurisdiction over disputes arising from them.
That choice does not take anything away from you. A consumer resident elsewhere in the European Union keeps every protection that is mandatory under the law of their own country, and nothing here can be read as waiving it — a term that tried to would simply be void.
Who You Are Contracting With
StrictCite is operated as an individual undertaking, not a registered company. Article 6 of Directive 2011/83/EU requires that you know who that is before you are bound:

Payments are processed by Stripe as merchant of record, which means Stripe is the seller for tax purposes and is responsible for collecting and remitting VAT in your country. Your card statement will show Stripe, and invoices are issued by them. The service itself is provided by the person named above, and complaints about it should come to the address above.
